About Jakob

Jakob Schnur is a graduate of Pennsylvania State University, achieving a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and minoring in Sports Studies. He is currently a Seasonal Social Media Production Assistant for the National Football League, pursuing a career in sports journalism.

With the NFL, he participates in the production of NFL Network broadcasts by integrating social media content into the shows. He also cuts clips of said shows and develops digital content for the network's talent, as well as the "NFL Gameday" Instagram and X accounts.

Formerly, Jakob was a TV Production/Broadcast and Analytics Intern with the Sussex County Miners baseball team of the Frontier League. While with the Miners, he served as a play-by-play announcer and color commentator during live broadcasts of games. On top of this, he also logs team stats and writes pre-game reports and post-game recaps.
​
Throughout his time in State College, he was an active member of CommRadio, Penn State's student run radio station on campus. While with this organization, he worked 36 live events in play-by-play, color commentary and producer roles across 13 of Penn State's varsity sports including baseball, hockey, basketball and even football. He also acted as an insider for the men's basketball team, writing articles and engaging readers through both the station's and my personal social media platforms to report live updates during games and press conferences. His CommRadio career culminated with a trip to the 2024 NFL Draft in Detroit, where he hosted a live radio show covering the first three rounds.

In addition, Jakob served as a broadcaster on Big Ten Plus for men's and women's volleyball. as well as softball and women's hockey.

He also has experience on-camera with Centre County Report and After the Whistle as both a news and sports anchor along with being a field reporter.

When he's not covering sporting events, Jakob loves to watch sports and cheer on his favorite teams, but is also a film buff who enjoys winding down with a good movie.​
